Mrs Illiana Paunova, Executive Director of BgMVO, presented the essence and stages of implementation of the Medicines Verification System in Bulgaria at the continuing education course for master pharmacists. The event was organised by the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union and held on 18th of November 2017 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University in Sofia.
The key topics discussed at the meeting were the implementation of the Falsified Medicines Directive 2011/62/EU, the deployment plan for Bulgaria, the safety features, including a unique identifier and anti-tampering device, as well as the role and obligations of the pharmacies after 9th of February 2019.
The purpose of continuing education programme is to maintain professional competence and to update the knowledge and skills of master pharmacists.
