Presentation of the Bulgarian Medicines Verification Organisation at a regular session of the Health Commission at the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria

On September 14, 2017, at a regular meeting of the Health Commission at the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mrs. Illiana Paunova, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Medicines Verification Organisation presented "The progress of Bulgaria in the implementation of Directive 2011/62/EU on the prevention of the entry of falsified medicinal products into the legal supply chain". The presentation was given in view of the forthcoming inclusion in the Law on Medicinal Products in Human Medicine of provisions related to the implementation of the Directive in Bulgaria.
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Daniela Daritkova, was well attended by members of the Health Commission, Lidiya Neicheva, MPh, Deputy Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Assena Stoimenova, Executive Director of BDA, Mrs. Olia Vassileva, Chairman of BgMVO, members of the Board of Directors of BgMVO, pharmacists, journalists and others.
The presentation by Mrs. Illiana Paunova, was followed by a lively question and answers session with the members of parliament and guests regarding the requirements of the Directive, the project on the establishment of the Bulgarian medicines verification system and the necessary legal changes.
