The sixth annual conference «Innovations and good practices in the health sector» organized by Capital newspaper was held in Sofia on November 12th, 2019.

Main topics in the agenda were: reforms in the healthcare model and lessons learned from models abroad, digital healthcare, innovations in treatment of common diseases and hospital care management.  

Within the «Digital healthcare» panel Mrs. Illiana Paunova, executive director of BgMVO presented main developments and current situation of the Bulgarian medicines verification system after its official start on February 9th, 2019.  

All Bulgarian medicines manufacturers have been connected to the system already, Mrs. Paunova said. There is an increased number of connected pharmacies as well as the scanned packages, while registered transactions have tripled for the last two months. With some important forthcoming legislative changes, the medicines verification will be legally regulated, including all obligations, responsibilities and sanctions for any participant in the pharmaceutical supply chain, specified the executive director of BgMVO.

In the conference took part senior representatives of Health authorities, regulators, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, patients and professional organizations.
